Teens and in particular, girls, tend to have lots of stuff in their room. There are music CDs, the movies they have shared with friends and make-up items. In addition, remember they are discovering themselves. Hence, expect to find many clothes, jewelry, letters and play items. If all these items are unarranged, they might make the room to look untidy and unwelcoming. However, it is easier to change the look of the room, without moving some of her items out. Start with the closet and ensure clothes, together with anything else that can fit in there is well stored. Utilize the storage compartments provided in the closet and add hooks to offer more storage. Separate clothes or gear, she wears seasonally from others. Keep them to the backside of the closet or better still gather them in a basket and place it over the wardrobe. To ensure that she does not disorganize the closet, when looking for clothes to wear, keep similar clothes together.
When there are no more clothes on the bed or the floor, find a way to keep her small items in order. If there is a bedside table, use the drawers to stack her makeup kit and other paraphernalia. Use decorative boxes to store extra pillows, linens and teddy bears. Keep them on the corner of the room or just against the wall. If you need extra storage in the room, use mobile storage racks. These come with enough racks, to store various items. Stack her CDs and game consoles in the rack. You can also store her jewelry and letters in these racks. However, ensure not lose a thing and in particular, if you are doing this home keeping project when they are out in school. What may seem unimportant to you may be essential to the kid. The idea is to tidy up the room, without messing up with her items. The next place to organize is the reading table. Chances are that there are papers and pens thrown all over the table. However, do not despair yet. Organize books in stacks and buddle rough -work used papers in a place, to discard later, when you are sure, she does not need them anymore. Use penholders, to hold pens and pencils.
Lastly, it is your wish that your daughter’s room stays as tidy and clean as possible. To make this a success, encourage the kid to maintain the room always, as it is. Make them understand the importance of having a neat room. Preferably, let them be around, when you are organizing the room. This way, they will shy away from creating a mess. It will also nurture some responsibility instincts in them. A teen girl’s room is their haven. It is where they seek refuge, when moods change or when they want to be on their own. They also invite friends to this room. It is therefore, important that it stays organized and appealing.
