Pets Attire- Does your Pet Need Clothing

Pets Attire- Does your Pet Need Clothing

Just as humans pets require clothing for the same reasons people wear them for. There is a wide variety of pet’s attire including sweaters, caps, jackets, T-shirts, jewelry, bandanas, and sunglasses. Are they relevant or are they just some accents? The answer to these questions is positive to both scenarios. Dog‘s attire serves two purposes. First, they shield the pet from extreme weather elements, and they make the pet to look unique. Many people do not court the idea of a dog having some clothing after all; it already has a hair coat. Hence, they will not comprehend why a dog will need a jacket, raincoat, hoodie or a sweatshirt. What     they do not know is that dog’s pets too are affected by heat, cold weather, and rain. In addition, some people own pets in places the breeds are not meant to live in. As a concerned pet owner, is best, if you ensured that your pet is safe from the effects of the environment.

In most cases, you will protect the pet during the cold weather but has it ever occurred to you that the pet experiences discomfort during the hot season too.  The pet industry has your back; they have designed jackets, which can keep the pet cool, during summer. The jackets maintain the body temperature at minimum and prevent heat injuries. Apparel your dog will need is a life jacket. Today, it is not strange to see dogs at the beach. Some even go to the extent of swimming in the shallow waters. If you intend carrying your dog to the beach with you, then a life jacket will be necessary. It will ensure its safety, if it drifts towards deeper waters or places with high tides. The outdoor air has been polluted and as humans have been exposed to particles in the atmosphere, dogs are facing the problem as well. It is also a norm for a dog to stick out their heads from the car, when you are traveling. Moreover, some people travel with their pets on motorbikes. In such cases, you will need to invest in some dog goggles to prevent debris from entering their eyes.

Pets’ attire is also sported for the purposes of fashion. This comes in handy, if you like having your dog with you whenever you travel. If you want your dog to be the talk of the town or the love of the children, you need to find the right accessories to adorn it. When selecting the fashionable apparel for your dog, it relies heavily on your personal taste. However, for the jewelry and bandanas, you must be careful, when you put them on because they are worn around the neck, which can lead to accidents. It is upon you to be at a closer look, anytime the dog is wearing either a jewelry piece or a bandana. Overall, pet’s apparel is essential. They make your dog or cat to look special, while protecting them from effects of harsh weather.

How to Ensure your Pets Safety

How to Ensure your Pets Safety

Just as you would put some safety measures to safeguard your little ones, pets too need care. For instance, cats are often curious, and they portray signs of mischievousness, which means that some items must be kept away from to prevent hazards. Unlike other animals, which are able to handle toxins, once they are in their bodies, cats lack the liver enzymes, responsible for detoxification. How do you keep your feline friend from danger? To begin with, read the instructions on the pet products, before you buy. Some are meant for dogs or other related pets and should not be applied on cats. A good example is the line of products used in fighting ticks and fleas in dogs, since they contain permethrin, which is fatal to cats.

Keep away all the automotive products as well as the windshield washer. These products contain ethylene glycol, characterized by an inviting scent and a sweet taste both to children and pets. However, automotive products are known to cause deaths of nearly 10000 pets every year, after ingestion. In addition, gather all the human medicines and keep them locked in the medicine cabinet. Keep all other medicines safely intact. This way, the curious cat, will not reach them. Especially the human drugs, which are defined by sweet taste and scent, will easily lure the cat to ingesting them. The choice of houseplants you have, can also pose health threats to your lovely pet. Plants such as the Oliander, Yew and Azalea, can lead to an immediate death, if pets ingest them. Others can cause terminal damage, to the liver, kidney and even result to persistent respiratory problems. If you are not sure of the toxicity of the plants, consult a local environmental agency.

You should also keep rodenticides away from the cat. These baits contain lethal compounds, which can cause internal bleeding in the pet, if accidentally ingested. The chemicals also contain organophosphates, which can wreck the nervous system of your cat. Close the laundry rooms, linen closets and the like. These areas may be where you store cleaning agencies, some of which may contain toxic compound including those containing Ajax, Drano, and pine oil. Keep also garden products away from pets. While these chemicals eliminate pests in your garden, they are also poisonous to pets. Make sure there are no lying objects, around the house such as nails and screws, which the cat can swallow. If swallowed, they can lead to death, when they are trapped in the esophagus. You can ensure your cat's safety by, employing the above strategies. Cats are quite playful and have unmatched curiosity, if you do not take care, they will access the chemicals, which can lead to their loss. It is your responsibility to keep your home safe for pets, as you would apply gates at the top of a high stairwell, to protect your toddler.
